However, these analyses are more expensive and often require more input material (e.g. cells, DNA) which might not be readily available in certain contexts such as clinical laboratories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Classifiers based on decision trees (random forest, XGBoost) are popular and very effective in applications involving high-dimensional -omics datasets. The goal of this project is to adapt decision tree-based algorithms to prioritize features from the most informative -omic modality and only include multiple modalities if there is a significant gain in performance.
