Professional Career

I received my bachelor’s degree in 2021 from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, majoring in plant science. In the same year, I studied at South China Agricultural University, researching crop genetics and breeding. During my master’s degree, I mainly studied the differences between rice subspecies, such as differences in DNA methylation, differences in lncRNA, etc. In 2024, I continued my PHD studies at South China Agricultural University, focusing on abiotic stress in plants. In 2025, I came to the BDA group at the SILS Institute of the University of Amsterdam as an academic exchange student, focusing on using deep learning models to predict the impact of non-coding DNA on gene expression.

Research

My current research is mainly divided into two directions. The first research direction is to use deep learning models to predict the impact of non-coding DNA on gene expression, mainly to explore the impact of transcription factors on gene expression under salt stress. The second research direction is to study the evolutionary history of sorghum and its strong resistance to abiotic stress.
