Professional Career

I earned a BSc in Economics from the Universidad de Valencia in 2019. In 2020, I moved to the Netherlands to pursue an MSc in Statistics and Data Science at Leiden University. For my MSc thesis (available here: GitHub link), I collaborated with Wageningen University to explore representation learning pipelines for high-dimensional data for downstream GWAS analysis. Currently, I am a PhD student within the Crop-XR consortium, focusing on the potential of using non-coding DNA to predict gene expression.

Research

At Crop-XR, we aim to leverage cutting-edge computational methods to accelerate biological research, enabling the development of more resilient crops that require less reliance on problematic compounds like fertilizers and pesticides. As part of Work Package 2 (WP2), my research focuses on predicting gene expression—and ideally protein concentrations—over time in response to environmental perturbations and changes in the cistrome.
